The reality is, Family Court is a broken system. It feels like a cruel game upholding outdated and fractured examples of the status quo.

What you hold most dear to you is now broken up into blocks of times and qualified. It will chew you up if you don’t constantly advocate for yourself.

There are some Lawyers and Judges that do care, but often times there is little that can be done to make changes.

I was told more than once there was nothing that could be done at different points in this journey. I often times proved them wrong simply by not accepting it.

It’s hard to explain to people the level of insanity that comes from seeing the patriarchy override the rights of the child.

My experience through Family Court was a long and lonely journey. Now that it is done, I can breathe a bit now, it’s a totally new playing field.
